On being Pregnant and a Cuddly Bunny

Here I sit at post at the Cuddly Bunny. 3 and a bit or so months pregnant.

When I began working at the Cuddly Bunny, my son soon to turn one year old. After shifts went by and always I left work with a small bag of SOMETHING for him, I realized that in essense I was paying the store for me to work!

When i became pregnant again, my colleagues and fellow Cuddly Bunnies of course are nothing but excited for my family. My biggest supports thru this pregnancy I would gander.

This being Baby 2, theres not a whole lot: if anything: that  I need. But there are some things I would do differently and KNOW would make life a whole lot more efficient.

With Baby 1, I feel we were fairly frugal. We didn’t buy the baby furniture, or fancy big strollers, or a load of clothes, toys or any of that. At the same time, I do know that we wasted some money and held back on some items I wish we had invested in.

So this time around, armed with time, knowledge and perspective. I have created my own little ‘registry’ for me of course, somewhere keeping track of the items we have in store that I feel will help life with Two be a bit easier.

Wanna know whats on that list? Coming from being a shopkeeper, Mum, and pregnant lady whos fairly frugal and has the skinny on whats what in the baby gear world? Heheh.

Here she be:

Babywrapper:  I tell ya, everytime I lift my child out of the tub, with the towel ackwardly tucked into my collar, kid hanging on for dear life and me running all the danger scenarios over in my head…that towel seems mighty worth the investment.

Boobytubes: depending on how my milk comes in. I tried to use this big hefty lavender bag I have, wasn’t very helpful. Boobytubes are flax filled compresses you warm and place on your sore ducts. If it was anything like Day 3 of Baby 1, I will be needing these puppies.

Ecopiggy Natural Paci: if Baby 2 is a Paci sort, I will FOR SURE ONLY be giving Baby 2 one of these. They just make sense to me. All one piece, safe, chemically free. Nothing but goodness. They even kinda look yummy.

Peppa Bonding Doll: of course. Such a sweet lovey

Babylicious or Grobag lightweight sleep cozy: I know now, I wish I had bought one of these for Baby 1. Then I wouldn’t worry so much about over or under dressing baby for bed, especially since I keep my Babes in bed with me for the first chunk of time.

Bravado nursing underoos: I didn’t buy a single nursing garment. I spent a mint in maternity clothes tho, what was I thinking?!?! After Baby 1 was still nursing strong long after 1 yr old, I kicked myself for not thinking THAT one thru!

Skip Hop Pronto: one of those little portable change pads that fold up into a purse like thing. I got rid of my change surface already. Its sooo much easier to change a wiggly toddler on a lower surface, let alone a newborn! So as opposed to using a towel or receiving blanket, makes sense for when we are out and about as well!

And that thus far is my MUST list. Of course its filled in with all sorts of other doodads and fun cute things!
